NeuroNest Sleep Program
Individualised sleep support for neurodivergent children and their families

The NeuroNest Sleep Program is a structured, neurodiversity-affirming sleep support program designed for autistic children and children with additional regulation, sensory, or anxiety-related sleep challenges. The program goes beyond surface strategies by identifying what is maintaining your child’s sleep difficulties and supporting change in a way that feels emotionally safe, realistic, and sustainable.
This program focuses on understanding your child’s nervous system, sleep biology, and daily rhythms, then building a clear, individualised sleep plan matched to your child and family.

Whats Included in the NeuroNest Sleep Support Program
Session 1- Comprehensive sleep assessment and parent consultation
Initial 90-minute phone or telehealth consultation session to explore your child’s sleep history, current sleep pattern, regulation needs, sensory profile, anxiety, routines, and daytime factors that influence sleep.
Written Comprehensive Sleep Plan
A detailed, personalised sleep plan that covers:
-
Bedtime routines and settling support
-
Overnight waking and resettling
-
Early rising or split nights
-
Sleep timing and sleep pressure
-
Sensory and environmental supports
-
Daytime foundations that support night-time sleep
The plan is practical, step-by-step, and tailored to your child’s needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Session 2: Parent coaching and education
Clear explanations of why your child’s sleep looks the way it does, what to expect as changes are introduced, and how to respond calmly and confidently. Strategies are chosen to support emotional safety and gradual learning, not distress-based approaches.
Session 3: Follow-up support and plan adjustments
Follow-up sessions are included to review progress, troubleshoot challenges, and adjust the plan as your child practises new sleep skills. This ensures families are not left guessing or starting over when sleep feels uneven.

# Additional Sessions as required
Optional resources- may accrue additional costs
Based on your child’s plan, you may also receive tools such as:
-
Sleep diary templates
-
Visual routines or schedules
-
Bedtime scripts

Night waking response plans

Why the NeuroNest approach works

Many sleep strategies fail because they focus only on bedtime. Research supports a more effective approach:
understand what is maintaining the sleep disruption, then use practical, individualised strategies with caregiver coaching. When support is tailored to a child’s sleep pattern and regulation needs, families are more likely to see sustainable improvements over time.
Outcomes families often notice

Every child is different and progress can be gradual, but families commonly report:
-
calmer bedtimes and less distress around sleep
-
fewer or shorter night wakings, with improved resettling
-
more predictable sleep patterns across the week
-
improved daytime regulation, energy, and participation
-
increased parent confidence and reduced night-time stress
NDIS Funding

Sleep support is available for NDIS participants (plan managed or self managed) and can be provided when it aligns with your child’s plan goals. This support focuses on building capacity in everyday routines, sleep and self regulation, emotional wellbeing, and family capacity to support participation at home and in the community. It is commonly claimed under Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living (Therapeutic Supports) when linked to the participant’s goals.
Fees are charged in line with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements, and no referral is required. Services are provided via telehealth Australia wide, with home consults available in Moreton Bay (4020).
.
