The Nest Framework Sleep Guide.png

NeuroNest sleep plans draw on paediatric sleep research, including research involving autistic children and children with ADHD. The NeuroNest NEST Framework guides how we bring this knowledge together with your understanding of your child to develop a personalised plan.
Through Notice, Explore, Support and Track, we build a picture of your child’s sleep, consider what may be contributing to difficulties, select relevant strategies and help you recognise what is working.

What we consider

Your intake information and seven-day sleep diary help us explore seven connected areas:

  • Body clock and sleep timing: When your child becomes sleepy and how their bedtime and waking times fit their natural rhythm.

  • Sleep pressure and daytime sleep: How time awake, naps and car sleep may influence readiness for bed.

  • Regulation and movement: Your child’s activity, energy and individual ways of settling.

  • Sensory comfort and sleep environment: How light, sound, temperature, bedding and clothing feel to your child.

  • Predictability and communication: How your child understands bedtime, manages transitions and communicates their needs.

  • Connection and emotional safety: The closeness, reassurance and caregiver support that help your child feel comfortable.

  • Sleep patterns and cues: How your child falls asleep, what happens when they wake and what helps them settle again

Connection and comfort throughout: Our approach is informed by attachment theory and neurodiversity-affirming principles. Caregiver presence, comfort and co-regulation are respected throughout the plan. Your family’s priorities shape the goals, and your child’s responses guide the pace.
